FauquierNow.com hires first full-time advertising representative

From: FauquierNow, August 2, 2016

Michelle Geenty of Midland has joined FauquierNow.com as its first full-time advertising representative.

Ms. Geenty has three decades of sales/marketing and financial industry experience. Most recently, she worked four years as the lead advertising sales representative at Prince William Living Magazine, based in Dale City. Her experience includes advertising sales for the Fauquier Times-Democrat and positions with Wells Fargo, Wachovia and other financial institutions.

FauquierNow Publisher Ellen Fox Emerson has handled advertising sales, along with her administrative duties, since FauquierNow's launch on Oct. 1, 2011. Mrs. Emerson will continue to handle some advertising but will turn most of that function over to Ms. Geenty.

The addition brings FauquierNow's full-time staff to five. Veteran journalist Don Del Rosso joined the website last month.

Mrs. Emerson and her husband "Lou," the editor, started the website five years ago with little idea of what would happen.

"The community response has been incredible," Mrs. Emerson said. "Thanks to reader and advertiser support, FauquierNow has the largest audience of any media in the county. We average 85,000 unique visitors a month and have almost 27,000 followers on Facebook.
